Petrochemical industry
Oxygen input for hydrocarbon-laden wastewater.
Petrochemical wastewater
Wastewater from the petrochemical industry contains hydrocarbons and often reduced sulphur compounds. In a first step, free and emulsified oils and fats are removed from the wastewater. Turbo flotation is particularly suitable for this, including adjustment of the required pH value and the addition of flocculants. The breakdown of the organic pollution and the oxidation of the sulphur compounds can take place either in aerated lagoons or in an activated sludge plant with the proven FUCHS aerators.
