Aeration for production wastewater with high organic loads.

Sugar industry

Sugar is mainly obtained from sugar beet or sugar cane. Raw sugar is produced on a seasonal basis. The wastewater, which carries a high organic load, must first be pretreated mechanically. For the biological treatment, aerated storage lagoons are an option, possibly in combination with a low-loaded activated sludge stage. FUCHS has the know-how to design and equip such plants.

Vegetable processing

Fruit and vegetables are harvested and processed seasonally. The coarse solids must first be separated from the wastewater. This is usually followed by a mixing and equalisation tank. Aerated lagoons or an activated sludge plant can be used for the biological treatment. The plants are designed to suit the specific conditions of each individual operation.

Dairy industry

In the dairy industry, most of the wastewater is generated when cleaning transport and production facilities. The organic constituents of the wastewater mainly come from milk and product residues. The wastewater is best treated by screening, buffering and biological treatment in a low-loaded activated sludge plant.
