Food industry
Aeration for production wastewater with high organic loads.
Sugar industry
Sugar is mainly obtained from beets or sugar cane. The raw sugar is produced on a seasonal basis. The organically highly contaminated wastewater must first be pretreated mechanically. For biological treatment, aerated stacking lagoons are an option, possibly in combination with a low-loaded activated sludge stage. FUCHS has the know-how for the design and equipment of such plants.

Vegetable processing
Fruit and vegetables are harvested and processed seasonally. The coarse solids must first be separated from the wastewater. This is usually followed by a mixing and equalization tank. Aerated lagoons or an activated sludge plant can be used for the biological treatment. The plants are designed to suit the specific conditions of each individual operation.

Dairy industry
In the dairy industry, most of the wastewater is generated when cleaning transport and production facilities. The organic constituents of the wastewater mainly come from milk and product residues. The wastewater is best treated by screening, buffering and biological treatment in a low-loaded activated sludge plant.
