Beverage industry
Wastewater treatment for breweries and beverage plants.
Breweries
In breweries, wastewater is mainly generated when rinsing the bottles and cleaning the production facilities. The fermentation residues must be disposed of separately. The wastewater is best screened, equalised in a buffer tank and then treated biologically in aerated lagoons or an activated sludge plant.
Distilleries
Distilleries produce highly polluted wastewater with an unfavourable nutrient balance. Where co-treatment in a municipal wastewater treatment plant is not possible and there is enough space available, aerated lagoons are a good solution for the biological treatment of the wastewater.
