City of Kenly, NC, USA Improves Oxygen Levels and Mixing with OxyStar® Aerators

Aging rotors in the oxidation ditch were increasingly impairing the performance of the wastewater treatment plant in Kenly, North Carolina. Particularly during the summer months, it became increasingly difficult to maintain the required dissolved oxygen levels in the basin. In 2025, two OxyStar® aerators (15 kW each) were installed to specifically improve oxygen supply and mixing. Installation was completed within a few hours, without the need to drain the basin or interrupt the biological treatment process. Since installation, the OxyStar® aerators have ensured improved dissolved oxygen levels and consistent mixing, while simultaneously relieving the existing plant equipment. The virtually maintenance-free aerators provide a straightforward and reliable solution. The customer is highly satisfied with the result.
