FUCHS Presents Successful Upgrade of a Lagoon Treatment Plant

As part of the North German Wastewater Colloquium, we presented the results of our project on upgrading a wastewater lagoon to improve COD and nitrogen removal.

Using the Latendorf lagoon treatment plant as an example, we showed how existing plants can be expanded in a targeted way and operated more efficiently with FUCHS aerators and NitriStar modules. The trial results show a clear improvement in treatment performance, particularly in BOD₅ and nitrogen removal.

The presentation was an opportunity to share our practical experience and results with experts from the wastewater sector and to discuss future-proof solutions for existing lagoon treatment plants.
