Retrofitting an existing lagoon treatment plant with the NitriStar system

An existing lagoon system was upgraded with the NitriStar system of OxyStar® aerators and NitriStar modules: total nitrogen fell by 85% and BOD removal improved significantly.

Retrofitting an existing lagoon treatment plant with the NitriStar system, a combination of OxyStar® aerators and NitriStar modules, has made targeted nitrification and denitrification possible.
The result is an 85% reduction in total nitrogen. BOD removal was also improved significantly.
All parties involved, the customer, the relevant authorities and the appointed consulting engineers, are very satisfied with the improved performance of the modernised plant.
