Leather industry
Aeration for heavily loaded tannery wastewater.
Wastewater from leather production
The wastewater from leather production contains dissolved lime from the liming process, tanning salts, organic pollutants and usually a high nitrogen load. Treatment is carried out through sieving, detoxification (chromium salts, sulphides) and biological treatment in an activated sludge plant with nitrification and denitrification. The robust FUCHS aerators also work reliably when lime precipitates and forms crusts.
