Treatment of dye-laden textile wastewater.

Wastewater from textile finishing

In the textile industry, wastewater is mainly generated during the processing of raw cotton, during dyeing and during the finishing and dyeing of yarns and fabrics. Alkaline wastewater from the mercerization of raw cotton is expediently neutralized with flue gas. After filtering off fibers and fabric residues, a mixing and equalizing basin usually follows. The biological treatment of the wastewater can take place in aerated lagoons, possibly in combination with an activated sludge tank as the last stage, or in a low-loaded activated sludge plant.
