Expansion of the Gurye wastewater treatment plant, South Korea

After the reliable operation of FUCHS equipment, the Gurye wastewater treatment plant in South Korea was expanded to 6,500 m³/day with OxyStar® aerators and TurboStar® mixers.

The Gurye wastewater treatment plant treats domestic wastewater and originally had a capacity of 5,500 m³/day. Due to the successful replacement of brush aerators and the reliable operation of FUCHS aerators and mixers in the existing plant, the operators decided to use OxyStar® aerators and TurboStar® mixers for the expansion project.

The expansion increased the total capacity to 6,500 m³/day. This was achieved by adding two additional oxidation ditches: one for aerobic treatment equipped with OxyStar® aerators and one for anoxic treatment with TurboStar® mixers. After a comprehensive test period, operation of the expansion started on 1 May 2024.
