FUCHS OxyStar®: cutting-edge aeration technology in Peru

At the end of August 2024, 40 FUCHS OxyStar® OS30 aerators entered operation in the aerated lagoon system of the Covicorti WWTP in Trujillo. The plant is owned by the drinking water and sewerage utility of the La Libertad region (SEDALIB S.A.). The new units replace obsolete equipment from other manufacturers that had considerable defects.

With this investment, the plant now has state-of-the-art aeration technology that increases both its treatment capacity and the efficiency of the treatment process while saving energy. Together with the installation at the El Cortijo WWTP, which is also owned by SEDALIB S.A. and where six OxyStar® OS30 units have been in operation since 2021, this project establishes SEDALIB S.A., FUCHS Enprotec and LEPSA S.A. as leading companies for water treatment technology in Peru and provides examples of best practice for Latin America.
